HOW TO PREPARE FOR NIFT

To help the students who are preparing to crack the NIFT Entrance Exam by providing various effective tricks. NIFT is a national level entrance exam conducted annually. These institutes offer various undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The exam is designed to test candidate’s creativity skills like drawing, observation, visualisation and writing. Every year 30000 candidates will appear for the entrance exam out of which 3500 seats will be allotted to candidates based on merit list. Due to high competition candidates need to prepare a strategy to separate them from rest of the candidates

Improve your observation and visualisation skills:

The main purpose of NIFT exam is to test candidate’s creative and imaginative skills. Try to sketch a lot whatever you feel like. Challenge yourself by trying new stuffs. Search in newspaper, journals, magazines and websites. Make it a habit to avoid eraser while practicing. This will help you sketch with more confident.

Improve Speed:

Candidate having good drawing skill and creativity is useless without having speed. Candidates need to present their imagination and creativity in limited time.

Solve sample/previous year paper:

Try to solve sample papers as much as you can. This will help in increasing the speed and accuracy to solve questions. Also solve previous year papers which will help in analyzing exam pattern and difficulty level of the exam. Focus more on weak sections.

Upgrade your general awareness:

Candidates are required to be aware of what’s happening around the world and country. Make a habit of reading newspaper daily. Candidates should also read fashion/design related books and magazines.

Concentrate and Apply:

Candidates are required to enhance their creativity skills. While working candidates are required to sit for several hours with 100% concentration. While working, regularly review your work and learn from previously made mistakes. Observe your surroundings and apply them in your work. This will enhance your creativity skills to think out of the box.

Regular Exercise:

Candidates while preparing for their exam should be regularly doing exercise such as walking, running, swimming etc. Candidates can also try meditation techniques to relive stress. Regular exercise helps in relaxing mind and body.

Proper Sleep:

Candidates are advised to do check their sleeping pattern during exam pattern. Irregular or less sleep will have bad effect on body and mind. 6-7 hours of sleep is necessary to have refresh mind for the next day. While continues studying candidates should take 10-15 minute break to avoid stress.
